As the name suggests.. these birds are from Napal which is in Indonesia. There are several
strains of the Kalij, but I think the Nepals are the prettiest. Mine are a little timid and don't like having their picture taken.
The male has a lot of irridecent blue-green feathering along his back that just shines in the sun!
Both the male and female sport a tassel on their head.
Kalij run a little "high-strung" so they like things in their pen to hide behind when they
get nervous. They seem to come out of hiding early in the morning and
right before sunset each evening.
